Job Description:
Requirement Gathering and Analysis:
- Collaborate with clients, internal teams to capture detailed business, functional requirements.
- Analyze current business processes, identifying gaps and recommending opportunities for improvement in freight forwarding and shipment management.
- Partner with product managers and developers to define, prioritize, refine product features.
- Propose and support the implementation of process automation and system enhancements based on industry trends and customer feedback.
Logistics Domain Expertise and EDI Flow:
- Provide subject matter expertise in logistics, including import/export documentation, customs regulations, compliance and freight forwarding processes.
- Ensure product features comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements in logistics, customs and freight forwarding.
- Leverage basic knowledge of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) to streamline data flow, improving process efficiency and accuracy.
Technology and Process Innovation:
- Research/recommend new technologies, strategies, practices to drive operational efficiency and enhance software capabilities.
- Monitor/oversee the implementation of new systems and technologies to ensure they align with business goals, compliance and contractual standards.
- Track and manage project lifecycles from design to implementation, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.
Customer Communication and Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and stakeholders, addressing concerns or questions related to the project scope, timelines, and functionality.
- Facilitate clear communication between business and technical teams to ensure alignment on objectives and expectations.
- Proactively identify potential project issues early and propose effective solutions to meet both customer and business needs.
Project Management & Reporting:
- Track and report on project progress, risks, and outcomes, ensuring alignment across all teams.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by regular reviewing and updating project documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Generate comprehensive project reports and communicate key milestones and any potential disruptions to stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Min. 2 years of experience in logistics / freight forwarding. Business Analyst role preferred.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of logistics processes, including freight forwarding, shipment tracking, and import/export documentation.
- Basic knowledge of EDI systems and their application in logistics data exchange.
- Good communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to proactively identify business challenges and implement solutions in fast-paced environments.
- Familiarity with logistics software platforms, ERP systems, and business analysis tools.
