Position Overview:
The IT Executive will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring that hardware, software, and network systems function smoothly to support business operations. You will provide technical support to end-users, manage network and system security, and assist in the planning and execution of IT projects. This role is essential in ensuring that all IT-related systems meet business needs, comply with security and performance standards.
Job Description:
Technical Support:
- Provide technical assistance to employees, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues efficiently and effectively.
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, servers, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Ensure timely and prompt resolution of IT-related issues using a ticketing system.
System & Network Administration:
- Monitor and maintain company servers, networks, and infrastructure to ensure continuous availability and performance.
- Perform regular system backups, security updates, and network performance monitoring.
- Configure and manage firewalls, routers, switches to enhance network security and optimize performance.
Software Management:
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, updates of business software and applications.
- Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and conduct periodic software audits.
- Provide technical training and support for enterprise software and tools used.
IT Security & Compliance:
- Implement and manage security protocols and policies to protect company data and IT assets.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to detect and prevent security breaches.
- Ensure compliance with IT security standards and regulations such as ISO 27001, GDPR, or other internal and external requirements.
Project Management & IT Strategy:
- Assist in the planning/implementation of IT projects, such as upgrades, deployments, and infrastructure improvements.
- Work closely with vendors and service providers for procurement, installation, and maintenance of IT hardware and services.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and warranties.
- Create and update technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides, procedures, and user manuals.
- Generate regular reports on system performance, security issues, and project progress to ensure alignment with business goals.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in IT support or IT administration.
- Familiarity with network administration and system security management.
- Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and macOS.
- Hands-on experience with network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and IT compliance frameworks.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Effective communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
- Certifications: Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals) are a plus.
